• What is RepublicOnboard?

  RepublicOnboard is an innovative digital delivery channel. New and existing customers can easily open a deposit account via any smart device.

• Is the account opening process entirely online?

  Yes, the entire account opening process is conducted via the online portal.

• Will I still need to visit a branch?

  Yes, you will need to visit a Branch to obtain your Visa Debit Card, after the account has been successfully opened.

• What are the requirements to open a Deposit Account via RepublicOnboard?

  All customers wishing to open an account through RepublicOnboard need to have the following:
  • A valid email address
  • A valid phone number (with access to WhatsApp for a possible video call)
  • A device with a working camera to capture a selfie and relevant documents
  • Valid Passport as proof of identification
  • Recent utility bill
  • Letter of authorisation or lease agreement (If utility bill is not in their name)
  • For employed persons, a job letter or pay slip is also required (No more than 3 months)
  • For self-employed persons, any one (1) of the following is also required:
  - Projected Cash Flow
  - Receipts, Contracts, Lease Agreements
  - Financial Statement

• How old can my Utility bill be?

  Your Utility bill must be dated within the last three (3) months to be accepted as proof of address.

• How old can my job letter/payslip be?

  Your job letter/ payslip must be dated within the last three (3) months.

• Is there an age requirement to be able to open an account via RepublicOnboard?

  You must be eighteen (18) years and older to open an account via RepublicOnboard.

• Can an existing Republic Bank customer use RepublicOnboard?

  Of course! Existing and New customers can open an account online using RepublicOnboard.

• Would I need to register for Internet Banking?

  No, when you open an account via RepublicOnboard you are automatically enrolled to Internet Banking for your convenience.

• What type of accounts can I open via RepublicOnboard?

  This may vary in different jurisdictions for now, but eventually all our deposit accounts can be opened via RepublicOnboard.

• What exactly is a Deposit Account?

  A Deposit Account is a bank account that provides a secure place store funds. Deposit accounts can earn interest on deposited money, helping it to grow. Common types include: Savings Accounts, Chequing Accounts, Money Market Accounts etc.

• If I am not a citizen of Dominica, can I open an account via RepublicOnboard?

  RepublicOnboard is specifically tailored for both Nationals and Non-nationals of Dominica, who qualify.

• If I pay taxes in other countries, can I be onboarded via RepublicOnboard?

  Customers, who currently pay taxes in countries besides Dominica can be onboarded via the RepublicOnboard app once they qualify.

• If I am an unemployed individual, can I open an account using RepublicOnboard?

  Absolutely! Unemployed individuals, including those who are students, retired, or homemakers, can open a Personal Chequing account using RepublicOnboard. We strive to be inclusive and welcome individuals from all employment backgrounds to experience the convenience of our digital banking services.

• If I am a self-employed individual, can I open an account using RepublicOnboard?

  Absolutely! Self-employed individuals who do not operate a listed business can open an account via RepublicOnboard. Listed businesses include Real Estate Agents, Motor Vehicle Agents, Gaming Houses, Pool Betting, National Lotteries, On-Line Betting Games, Jewellery Business, Private Member’s Club, Attorneys-at-Law, Accountants, or other persons performing the functions of an Accountant or other Independent Legal Professionals, Art Dealers, Trust and Company Service Providers. To open an account for your listed businesses, kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.

• Can I apply for a joint account through RepublicOnboard?

  Currently, RepublicOnboard does not facilitate the application process for joint accounts. To open a joint account kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.

• Can I add another person to an account using RepublicOnboard?

  Currently, RepublicOnboard does not facilitate the application process for joint accounts. To open a joint account kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.

• If I am a, or related to a, Politically Exposed Person (PEP), can I be onboarded via RepublicOnboard?

  Customers who are PEP, i.e., persons that currently hold a position in public office or is an immediate family member (spouse, parent, sibling, child/stepchild or chose personal/professional associate) of a person holding a position in public office, unfortunately cannot be onboarded via RepublicOnboard. To open an account kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.

• Can I use a computer or other device without a camera to complete the application?

  A smart device (with a camera) will be required to complete the online application. The camera is used to capture necessary identification documents, customer’s selfie and verify the customer’s identity.

• How long does the online account opening process typically take?

  The process to open an account via RepublicOnboard can be relatively quick. Please note that all applications will be reviewed by the Bank who reserves the right to approve or decline the application. This process will take one business day to complete.

• What do I choose if I fall into multiple customer categories/types?

  If you fall under multiple customer types, you can select any one of the types to continue with your application process.

• Can I pause and resume my application at a later date?

  You can only stop and resume your application after you have received your Internet Banking email providing you with your temporary IB password.

• How do I resume an application?

  Once you have received your RepublicOnline email you can exit the application. You will be asked to visit RepublicOnline via the web application to change the password and complete the registration process. Upon completion you will be able to resume your application and continue with the RepublicOnboard process.

• Can I apply for a credit card or loan via RepublicOnboard?

  RepublicOnboard currently does not facilitate the application of loans or credit cards.
